Island Tuff Marine offers a comprehensive suite of yacht services tailored for discerning owners. Our core offerings include full yacht management, USCG-certified captain and crew services, underwater bottom cleaning, exterior and interior detailing, vessel deliveries along the East Coast and to the Bahamas, private fuel delivery, custom hurricane preparation plans, and coordinated doctor visits and telehealth services for crew and guests. All services are available standalone or as part of our customizable monthly management packages.
Our primary service area is South Florida, with active operations in Fort Lauderdale, Miami, and Palm Beach. We also serve yacht owners throughout the full U.S. East Coast — from Florida north to the Carolinas, the Chesapeake, and beyond. Bahamas services including deliveries, island hopping, and vessel management are available by request. Caribbean voyages are offered for select clients, drawing on our founder's deep roots and expertise in those waters.
Our management programs are monthly engagements built around your specific vessel, usage patterns, and ownership preferences. After an initial consultation and vessel assessment, we create a custom plan that becomes the blueprint for ongoing care. Weekly task lists keep maintenance proactive rather than reactive. We communicate regularly with owners on vessel status, upcoming service needs, and any issues that arise — handling all coordination with vendors, marinas, technicians, and subcontractors on your behalf. You receive complete oversight without the day-to-day burden.
Yes — all Island Tuff Marine captains hold current United States Coast Guard (USCG) certification up to 200 gross tons, which represents the highest standard of domestic commercial maritime licensing. In addition, our captains carry STCW (Standards of Training, Certification and Watchkeeping) certification as required for international voyages and professional crew, as well as current First Aid and CPR certifications. Our lead captain, Captain Nikolas, brings extensive experience navigating South Florida, the East Coast, and Caribbean waters.
Absolutely — and we encourage it. Our five published management packages (Tender, Harbour, Mariner, Admiral, and Flagship) are designed as starting frameworks, not rigid structures. Every owner and every vessel has unique needs, and we work directly with you to add, remove, or adjust any element of your program. During your initial consultation, we'll discuss exactly what your vessel requires and what your ownership experience should look like — then build accordingly. The final package is always tailored specifically to you.
Getting started is straightforward. You can submit an inquiry through our contact page, call us directly at (954) 469-9096, or reach us by email at Islandtuffmarine@gmail.com. We'll schedule a complimentary consultation — either in person at your vessel or by phone — to discuss your needs, walk through our programs, and determine the best path forward. There is no obligation and no pressure.
Yes — coordination with yacht brokers, marina staff, subcontractors, manufacturers, insurers, and any other parties related to your vessel is a core part of what we do. Our management clients benefit from our established relationships with trusted vendors throughout South Florida, including preferred pricing with select suppliers. We handle all communications on your behalf, so you deal with a single point of contact — us — rather than managing a network of vendors yourself.
Several things set us apart. First, we are owner-operated — the same people who founded Island Tuff Marine are directly involved in the care of your vessel. There is no corporate layer between you and accountability. Second, our Caribbean heritage and lifelong maritime experience provide an authentic depth of seamanship that most firms simply cannot offer. Third, we deliver a genuinely hands-off experience for owners — not just a promise of it. And fourth, we treat discretion as an absolute, not an afterthought. Our clients trust us with their most valuable assets and their privacy, and we honor that trust completely.
Yes. Hurricane preparedness is one of the most critical services we provide for South Florida yacht owners. Our program includes a fully customized hurricane plan created specifically for your vessel and home marina, coordinated marina arrangements for storm positioning, securing of lines, canvas, and loose equipment, removal of sensitive electronics and personal items as needed, and the creation and placement of a comprehensive emergency manual onboard. Management package clients at the Admiral and Flagship levels receive a custom hurricane plan as a standard inclusion.
Bottom cleaning is the professional removal of marine growth — barnacles, algae, and other biofouling — from below your vessel's waterline. This includes the hull surface itself as well as zincs (sacrificial anodes that protect your metals from electrolytic corrosion), running lights, rudder, shafts, and propellers. Unchecked marine growth significantly increases drag, reduces fuel efficiency, degrades hull paint, and can accelerate corrosion. Island Tuff Marine charges $5 per foot for hull cleaning, $200 flat for a full underwater inspection, and $150 per hour for specialized underwater labor. Every bottom cleaning service includes photo and video documentation delivered directly to the owner.
Yes. Island Tuff Marine arranges private, on-vessel fuel delivery directly to your yacht. This eliminates the inconvenience of running to a fuel dock and ensures your vessel is always ready for departure. We have established relationships with fuel suppliers that allow us to offer our management clients discounted rates. A minimum fuel delivery order of $200 applies. Contact us for current pricing and availability in your area.
Our regular office hours are Monday through Saturday, 8:00am to 6:00pm. For management package clients, we maintain 24/7 emergency dispatch — meaning if something urgent happens to your vessel outside of business hours, we are reachable and responsive. This around-the-clock availability is a core feature of all our management programs, not an add-on. We understand that the sea doesn't keep business hours, and neither do we when your vessel needs us.
